Established in 2010 The Village Deli was a small foodie haven in the village of Spaldwick, where award winning chef Darrell Haylett was busy preparing deli items for the counter. On one especially busy lunch while cooking he chowed down a scotch egg and the idea for the hot scotch egg was born. Since then many eggs have been peeled and many amazing festivals have been attended.
We believe in sourcing locally and responsibly, and a lot of thought goes into reducing our carbon foot print using sustainable food and packaging and keeping our waste to a minimum. Our aim is to build sustainability into every element of our business.
Our second festival and street food stand is a wholly vegan and vegetarian affair serving root vegetable fries with plenty of delicious toppings. from our converted vintage 1963 east German Barkas.
